Sweden - Broadband Market - Overview Statistics & Forecasts
Sweden has one of the highest broadband penetration rates in Europe, the result of an effective government broadband policy and a population quick to adopt emerging technologies. DSL dominates broadband access, though Metro Ethernet, fibre, satellite, and WLAN access are also available. Considerable investment in fast mobile networks has also made mobile broadband a realistic proposition. This report examines Sweden's fixed and wireless broadband markets in 2008. It also presents statistical broadband forecasts to 2017 and assesses likely market conditions for the adoption of emerging IP services such as VoD and IPTV.

Sweden - Convergence - Triple Play & Digital TV
Sweden's investments in ADSL2+ and fibre networks in recent years have provided the infrastructure for triple play services to take off. The largest cable TV operators, Com Hem, Kabelvision, and UPC Sweden, have also upgraded their networks to provide at least 10Mb/s bandwidth. Transmissions of DTTV began in 1999, which can be accessed by more than 98% of Swedes, and the country is ahead of most of Europe in switching off analogue broadcasts. This report provides an overview of Sweden's digital convergence in 2008, including recent developments in VoD, triple play and VoIP services, together with an overview of the digital TV market and the development of digital switchover.

Sweden - Mobile Market - Overview & Statistics
Sweden has been an innovator in the mobile sector, and was the first country in Europe to have UMTS networks across all major operators. Slower subscriber growth in recent years, due to market saturation, has been enervated by greater consumer take-up for mobile data services, made possible by significant investments in HSPDA networks. The analogue network was shut down in mid-2007, while the 450MHz frequency has been switched to digital use to provide a national mobile broadband service. Strong competition among network operators has lead to falling call prices and ARPU, not yet compensated for by data use. This report provides statistics and research on the Swedish mobile market in 2008, including the key regulatory issues and the growth of mobile data services.
