Slovakia - Convergence, Broadband & Internet Market - Overview, Statistics & Forecasts
Slovakia's Internet market is undergoing a transition as users migrate from narrowband to broadband access platforms, with availability of cable, ADSL2+, fibre access and wireless broadband expanding. Broadband is being sold as a platform through which telecom operators hope to sell additional services, such as broadband TV (IPTV), in addition to slowing the fall of fixed lines, while cable operators are using it to offer VoIP services. Riding on this trend is development of Slovakia's Internet economy, which has received substantial EU funding to develop and improve access to e-government services. Digital terrestrial TV developments are underway, with three multiplexes to be launched by 2013. This report profiles Slovakia's broadband, convergence and broadcasting markets in 2008, providing an overview of major players, numerous statistics and broadband take up forecasts to 2018.

Slovakia - Mobile Market - Overview Statistics & Forecasts
Slovakia's mobile market is serviced by three mobile network operators. Penetration is at near saturation levels, although the launch of services by the third operator in 2007, coupled with the introduction of mobile number portability will have a positive effect on competition and penetration levels. Both of the established mobile network operators have focused on improving ARPU levels by encouraging existing prepaid users to migrate to postpaid plans, as well as offering mobile broadband access and content services, which have benefited from deployments of 3G/HSDPA networks. This report profiles Slovakia's mobile market in 2008, providing statistics on the main operators, a snapshot of the mobile market and an overview of regulatory issues.
