Greece - Convergence, Broadband & Internet Market - Overview, Statistics & Forecasts Synopsis
Broadband penetration in Greece is improving following the incumbent's promotion of services and improving competition based on regulatory mandated network access. Increasing broadband uptake and deployment of faster ADSL2+ networks has in turn supported the launch of convergence services such as broadband TV (IPTV). Triple play initiatives are being spearheaded by the telcos in the absence of cable TV operators. Digital TV services are commercially available via IPTV and satellite. An increase in Internet usage by the broader population is fostering an Internet society, with notable developments in the public administration (e-government) and health (e-health) sectors. Covering the aforementioned topics, this report offers an insight into Greece's broadband and convergence market, presenting overviews of key technologies and market developments, a range of data, and broadband forecasts to 2018.

Greece - Mobile Market - Overview & Statistics Synopsis
Greece has a well developed mobile market characterised by high SIM card penetration, although penetration levels point to multiple SIM card ownership by individuals. Three mobile network operators offer mobile voice and data services: Wind Hellas, Vodafone Greece and Cosmote. Competition is intense. A fourth mobile network operator was acquired in 2006 and regulatory mandated reductions in mobile network termination tariffs have impacted revenue and been partly to blame for the current financial position of one mobile network operator. With penetration levels at saturation, mobile network operators are attempting to grow revenue through increasing Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), primarily by introducing segmented offerings and launching aggressively-priced mobile broadband services with prepaid data bundles, made possible due to earlier deployments of 3G/HSDPA networks. The search for growth has led one operator to pursue merger and acquisition activities in lesser developed markets within the Balkans region. This report provides an overview of Greece's mobile market, covering regulatory and market developments, significant operators, and including a variety of financial and industry-related statistics.
