 Primus Telecommunications Australia
Synopsis Primus Telecommunications Australia is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Primus Telecommunications US. The company is a facilities-based total service provider offering local, domestic and international telephony, data, ADSL, ADSL2+, web hosting, VPNs and mobile services. Although the original focus was small to medium businesses, the Primus customer base includes residential customers and large businesses. Primus is undertaking a major upgrade of its network by installing DSLAMs across Telstra exchanges. During 2008, Primus will look at divesting non-core assets and outsourcing or centralising more of its back-office operations. Primus has begun upgrade of its fibre-optic network which will offer customers speeds as high as 10Gb/s.
